Threads: An Early Vibe Check

I come to you with a breaking news vibes report from Threads, the new Twitter clone that Mark Zuckerberg unveiled on Wednesday. It has already signed up 30 million users, according to Zuckerberg, and appears to be the most rapidly downloaded app ever. “Can’t get enough of your threads,” the actress Jennifer Lopez said in a Threads post. For an app that has caused a lot of drama — Twitter is already threatening legal action — the user experience feels basic, even rote. If there’s a dominant topic of conversation, it’s how weird it is to be on Threads.

Biden went further in teasing a 2024 announcement on Monday. The president told NBC's Al Roker that he plans on running, pushing closer to a formal announcement. "I plan on running, Al, but we're not prepared to announce it yet," Biden told NBC's Al Roker during an interview on the "Today" show. And we have time to make that decision," Biden told MSNBC's Jonathan Capehart last October. The veteran NBC host teased the president's future by asking how many more Easter Egg Rolls Biden expects to lead.

Al Roker returned to "TODAY" on Friday after two months away, and he was in great spirits as he joined Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb in Studio 1A at the top of the show. Roker walked onto set, sharing hugs and kisses with Guthrie and Kotb, while the crew applauded. You are my second family and it’s just great to be back — and wearing pants!” Roker joked. Al Roker returns to "TODAY" on Friday. Roker then spent another stint in the hospital, returning home once more on Dec. 8.
Here's how Miller, who doesn't think the housing market is going to crash, became a beacon of trust. The call was from a journalist at an international paper asking for Miller's comment on the US housing market for a story. The 62-year-old founder of the real-estate-appraisal and data firm Miller Samuel is probably the most-quoted man in real estate, with some 2,469 news citations, according to the database LexisNexis. Today, Miller Samuel has replaced Scantrons with iPods, iPhones, and a CoreLogic appraisal software called A La Mode. Today, there's much more data than there was when he started Miller Samuel, but also a lot more "crap," Miller said.
Al Roker says his recent hospital stints have been “a tough slog,” but he is pushing through it thanks to an outpouring of well wishes and support from his wife, three children and his "TODAY" colleagues. Roker shared an update on the "TODAY" show via video call from his home on Monday after spending most of the past month at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. I’m a very fortunate person.”Regular visits to the hospital by his colleagues have helped bolster his spirits. “You guys have been terrific coming by the hospital,” he said while wearing a shirt from his alma mater, SUNY Oswego. Roker then shared the happy news on Thursday that he was back home again from his second hospital stay.
“TODAY” show weatherman and anchor Al Roker has been readmitted to the hospital after revealing last month he was treated for blood clots. “It was wonderful hosting the celebration, but, of course, we all wished that Al could’ve been with us,” Kotb said. “Al Roker-- hurry back to us... counting the days xoxoxo,” Kotb wrote. Roker took some time off following the diagnosis, and returned to the “TODAY” show with a clean bill of health. “It was this great relief,” he told “TODAY” viewers at the time.
CNN —Al Roker’s “Today” family is sending him love after he has been readmitted to a hospital. His colleague Hoda Kotb mentioned on air Thursday morning that it was wonderful hosting the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade last week, but “we all wish that Al could have been with us.”The famed “Today” meteorologist missed the event for the first time in 27 years as he was recovering from a blood clot in his leg having traveled to his lungs. Kotb said on Thursday that “due to some complications” Roker was back in the hospital and “and he’s in very good care.”“He’s resting and his doctors are keeping a close eye on him,” she said. “So very #thankful to be able to be home for #thanksgiving #dinner with #family,” the caption read on a pair of family photos posted. CNN has reached out to reps for Roker for comment.

“All that success came at a price,” says Andrew Olsen, a devotee of “Barney” history and its memorabilia. It’s a reasonable point at first, but one the documentary overplays, especially when there’s so much odd, specific stuff about the show to mine here. “I Love You, You Hate Me” has already generated media attention for Peacock, so score it as a win by that measure. But while the project captures a very specific moment in time, it runs out of insight before its time is up. “I Love You, You Hate Me” premieres October 12 on Peacock.
